St. Elias the Prophet, Santa Fe

Welcome to St. Elias the Prophet, Santa Fe, New Mexico

A parish of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Denver, St. Elias serves Santa Fe, northern New Mexico, and southern Colorado. The church is located in the community of Eldorado, approximately 10 miles southeast of the city of Santa Fe. Rev. Fr. Demetrios Demopulos is the parish priest. Directions are given elsewhere on this page.

Vespers is usually served at 6:00pm Saturdays. Weekday Liturgies are scheduled for major feast days, each beginning at about 10:00am, following Orthros at 9:00am. Vespers is usually served at 7:00pm the evening before the feast day. See the Calendar link at the top of the page for this month's liturgical schedule.

Iconography

We are in the process of installing iconogaphy on the walls and ceilings of our church. We have completed the sanctuary, the dome, and two walls of the transept. The icons are being painted by Greek Iconographers Maria Sigala and Nikolaos Spanopoulos in the classic Byzantine style. The church is open on Thursdays from 11:00am to 1:00pm for anyone wishing to pray or view the icons.
