Welcome to St. Elias the Prophet, Santa Fe, New MexicoA parish of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Denver, St. Elias serves Santa Fe, northern New Mexico, and southern Colorado. The church is located in the community of Eldorado, approximately 10 miles southeast of the city of Santa Fe. Rev. Fr. Demetrios Demopulos is the parish priest. Directions are given elsewhere on this page. Schedule of ServicesThe Divine Liturgy is celebrated every Sunday except when Fr. Demetrios is away from the parish. Orthros, or Matins, begins each Sunday at 9:00am with the Divine Liturgy following at about 10:00am. Vespers is usually served at 6:00pm Saturdays. Weekday Liturgies are scheduled for major feast days, each beginning at about 10:00am, following Orthros at 9:00am. Vespers is usually served at 7:00pm the evening before the feast day. See the Calendar link at the top of the page for this month's liturgical schedule. IconographyWe are in the process of installing iconogaphy on the walls and ceilings of our church. We have completed the sanctuary, the dome, and two walls of the transept. The icons are being painted by Greek Iconographers Maria Sigala and Nikolaos Spanopoulos in the classic Byzantine style. The church is open on Thursdays from 11:00am to 1:00pm for anyone wishing to pray or view the icons.

Directions to St. Elias from Santa FeTake I-25 north towards Las Vegas from any Santa Fe exit. Follow I-25 north to exit number 290. The sign will read: "Cline's Corners" Exit at number 290 and follow the exit ramp to the right. You will be on US285 south. At the first stoplight, Avenida Amistad, turn right. Follow Avenida Amistad less than 0.2 miles to the first left, Calle Electra. Turn left on Calle Electra and follow the road straight until you reach the church at 46 Calle Electra, on the right. Drive up the lane and park in the lower lot. The upper lot is reserved for handicap licensed vehicles.
Father's MessageI will be away from the parish from Friday afternoon, 11 July, through Saturday morning, 19 July, so that I can attend the Clergy/Laity Congress in Washington, DC. There will be no services at St. Elias while I am away, but the church will be open at 10:00am on Sunday, 13 July, for anyone who wants to light a candle and say a prayer. We will resume our liturgical schedule with Great Vespers on Saturday, 19 July.
